A still small voice

A still small voice, made me enter the drawing
I never win at those things and why would this be any different.
I knew the book would be such a help to me.

Downsizing, as it is sometimes called, which I have come to believe was made up by a person needing to rid themselves of their hoard.
Such a gentle way to say "throw it out!"

"No, I am not getting rid of all my clutter, I am downsizing!"

As many of you know, "downsizing" has been a real
hardship for me.
I felt I needed to apologize for moving to a senior
mobile home park.

why is it so hard to live a minimal life?

I love this book.  It has made such a huge difference
One of the things I was struggling with
the most was sewing magazines.
Not just any sewing magazines, but special ones.
Australian arts and smocking!
Now for those that sew and smock, you would never
NEVER part with those.  Sell maybe but to give away!
I was only a few pages into the book, when that
still small voice said Mary Jane
would like those magazines. You know the ones in storage,
You know the ones that will do her more good then
just sitting in storage.
A call to Mary Jane, the magazines boxed and on the porch
and a very happy friend and it made me feel
good, not sad, to part with those magazines.

It is a journey, thank you to
Pam, for holding the drawing.

Thank you to Cheryl E. Smith
for sharing her journey, so we can
follow, with a map.

My journey has just begun.
My first load has just gone out. I am still only in this
ankle deep.
As Cheryl describes in her book. you have many
layers to go though.

  1. Nonie, I am so thrilled that you entered for an opportunity to win Cheryl’s book. It is a book that I will refer to often, filled with God’s word and the truth of scripture. I am happy for you that the journey has begun. May God richly bless you my new friend!

  2. Dear Nonie, thank you ever so much for your kind, precious words about our book! I am deeply moved to know how much it has meant to you and trust the Lord will richly bless you on your continued journey. Much love and gratitude to you!

  3. I have never heard of such a book but I think I want to get it! I love the idea that it's based on the Bible.. Now THAT is something I can get on board with. I have been trying to "downsize" since last year.. I have lots of things I'd like to sell or get rid of I am just so leary on meeting people to make the transaction. I've done it a few times in the past and it was okay it just makes me feel uneasy and sites like Ebay well by the time you pay all their fee's you have lost money so I've just been staring at the things I'd like to try an sell not sure which way to go.... Congratulations on winning the giveaway and thank you so much for sharing this book! :)

    1. I know you will love this book, it answers questions I never thought to ask, if that makes sense. I pray the answer will come to you as to how to dispose of your items.

  4. Good for you, Nonie! Sharing is always a lift for the soul!!!

    Hugs, Karen (KarenVA)
